As a teacher, you must distinguish clearly the main stages in the learning process: help a learner to train his ear to distinguish variations in stress, intonation and sound; after some ear training, help learners to try to reproduce patterns, words, and sounds by themselves. The teacher does well to delay showing the writing version until the learner can pronounce the spoken version some ease; continue practicing sound patterns at dialogue and text level; maintain and improve the standard of pronunciation the learner has reached and is capable of reaching; to device means and techniques which will help learners to improve pronunciation of the difficult sounds and intonation patterns.
